Fire damages Rockland house

ROCKLAND —
Firefighters battling an electrical fire at a home on Crescent Street were able to limit most of the dmaage to the basement.
The fire was reported at 1:05 p.m. Tuesday, and the Rockland, Abington and Hanover fire departments responded. The all-clear was given at 3:15 p.m. There were no injuries.
In addition to fire damage in the basement and part of the first floor, there was smoke damage throughout the house, Lt. Donald Hussey of the Rockland Fire Department.
Homeowners Beverly and Edward Jones would not be able to stay in the house overnight, Hussey said.
The Whitman and Weymouth fire departments covered Rockland’s station while the fire was being fought.
